Urgent foster or permanent home needed for Alfie REHOMED
Poor Alfie has had an extremely difficult, sad time of late and deserves some happiness and stability in his life – can you be that special person that Alfie so desperately needs?
Alfie has spent a lot of time being passed from pillar to post and recently was rehomed privately; which unfortunately did not work out. Alfie found himself on the streets and back at the Edinburgh Dog & Cat Home where we managed to trace him. His previous owner is no longer in a position to care for Alfie and he is now in our care. He will remain safe and loved until we find his forever home.
Alfie is housetrained and can be left up to 4 hours a day. He enjoys his toys, especially sticks, footballs and water bottles, although can be reluctant to part with these (this is an area on which he needs further guidance and training. He is a quick learner and food-motivated!.
He has some basic obedience and his recall is generally okay. He does pull strongly on the lead to begin with but settles down with time; he would benefit from someone who has the time for further training in these areas. He can be an anxious boy but with patience, exercise and stimulation we feel his anxiety level will reduce. He has not had a lot of interaction with other animals (we feel he would chase a cat) and doesn't really react to other dogs but would benefit from further socialisation. Careful introductions would need to take place with other dogs.
Alfie is sadly going to boarding kennels after being in short term foster. We are looking for an URGENT foster home until we find a loving home – if you can help with a foster/forever home, please contact us on 07594897338 or 07880741428 or fill our Application to Adopt online @ www.staffordshirerescuescotland.co.uk
