Hi all. Bought my dad a BRP for chrimbo .. but didn't realize the annoyance of the set up when wanting to watch a DVD then switching back to TV. I have an LCD connected to the Virgin Media HD Box .. and now we have the BRP which replaces the DVD. We have a HDMi lead coming from the TV into the Virgin box. If we want to watch a DVD we have to take the HDMi cable from the Virgin box and plug it into the BRP, then put it back into the Virgin box to go back to TV viewing .. this, is a right pain in the bum. I'm guessing a I need a HDMi splitter ? Will these splitters still spit out a good picture from the BR and Virgin HD box ? Thanks.

We have two seperate HDMI cables so we don't have to switch back and forth. They aren't all that expensive anymore and most TVs now have mutiple HDMI outputs.

Sorry to hear that. I don't think I've ever seen a splitter for a HDMI cable.

I found a few on eBay today but I'm dubious if the splitter will spit out a good picture. May have to pop into comet or currys tomorrow and have a chat with their floor walkers!

You could have written that in english or welsh, and I still wouldn't understand it. Hope you manage to get it sorted. We are having a similar problem at the moment since getting the kids a vtech thingy, we have to keep disconnecting the dvd player to plug it in!

We sell HDMI splitters at work... on a rough currency conversion you'd be looking at about 20 quid. There are real posh ones too (which we don't sell) that you can get remotes for so you don't have to get up and change the switch... dunno about the man speak, but due to several years of working with electronics and componentry, I can speak the geek... kinda Tongues

Mind you we did buy our LG LCD before any of the HD Cable Boxes / BRP were on the market shelf, hence the only 1 HDMi port on it !
