Hey there guys,

I've been looking for a suitable bull-breed that isn't too big and still looks like a Staffordshire without being banned by the stupidity that is BSL in the UK. I found one, the American Bully. Now, before your mind explodes with horror (( XD )), i mean the Classic Build, not the hippo (( XD )). BUT. Does anyone know any good breeders of the Classic Build, please don't say Blue Ink Bullies, because I do believe they're either no-longer running, or just not on the web any more (still waiting for a reply from them via e-mail).
But yes, if anyone knows any kennels that breed the Classic Build, not the hippo, I would be very pleased if y'all could let me know =D

I'm not planning on getting one for a good few years, but I would just like to see what is available =D

Oh flip, I totally forgot about that! Pit crosses aren't allowed either so, yeah, Steve, you're right. I hope y'all don't mind whilst I sit here and curse the BSL?

Thank you, Steve. I will probably look for an American Bulldog crossbreed, since I'm looking to take on a guarding breed :3

Can't, not old enough yet. And I work out already, so technically, I don't need a guarding breed but my choice of dog usually falls into that category anyway. We need ground patrol dogs for the horses though, so we get cross-bred animals for that :3 But thank you anyway.

Take care - an American Bulldog cross will still look like a pit 'type'.

One of these would be good....Chodskey Pes (Czeck Shepherd). They are similar to a GSD, but are bred to guard as well as herd.........

I know a lady who has the only two in this country, and they are seriously useful dogs! They have all the trainability of the border collie or GSD, plus they have that extra guarding instinct.

She's hoping to import a couple more next year, and maybe breed a litter. They're not recognised by the Kennel Club yet, but maybe one day.

Try olde English bulldog. Cross of American and English bulldogs that are more capable. Great guarding (can sometimes be over the top). I've had two. About twice the size of a typical Staffy and i've seen them compete in protection, weight pull etc. My last boy is in the memorial section if you want to see what they are like. Doubt they would be classed as type.

What kind of bull dog is Endo, the one I am baby sitting? He is quite tall with skinny hips and a huge chest. Not the same as the 'Churchill' type.

The Churchill type really isn't all that typical nowadays. A true bulldog, although it still has a squashed in face, is very broad at the front with a slim waist & muscular thighs. They are also much higher over the loins than the withers.

You should get an irish wolfhound. Looks like a werewolf. Wink Rottweilers I can vouch for personally as great protection dogs but they need a strong and firm owner.

I love american bullies. To be honest though if you got a bulldog crossed with a staff, and they're not massively hard to find, the offspring would look very similar to what you're looking for. I'll lend you Romeo, he's ridiculously bully looking. He's been mistaken for a bulldog several times.

Ah! I was wondering about that type of cross. I've seen American Bulldogs crossed with Staffs and I like what pops out! If I had to go for a big bully type, it would be that, to be honest!
