getting nervous!!! (Link Added)

only 2 weeks till I'm in East Africa!!! ARGH!
I'm getting butterflies in my tummy now, I think we are prepared but man it's hard to be fully prepared for a place so different.

We fly out on New Years Eve at 11:59PM so I think we will be drinking on the plane! celebrating the new year!
We are meeting my friend over there who flew out 2 days ago, so she's already amongst the excitement.

We have been trying to find an appropriate friend for Russell to stay with, lots of people are happy to have him but none of them have adequate fencing. but we have found a friend (who also has a staffy) and he has a suitable enclosed chicken pen (which is quite large with 8ft fences) so we are headed out there today to help them fix and clean it up for him. (their staffy doesn't jump fences like russell does so they haven't needed to use it)

any way, there you go. getting very very nervous and excited!

you be careful out which country are you going to?

Uganda for a week volunteering at an orphanage, and then we are going through Kenya and spending most of out time in Tanzania on safaris.

Africa is a very different place but I am sure you will love it. A few things to remember: Dont drink the water, slather on insect repellant, sleep under a net and just ENJOY

yep we're all prepared with 80% DEET insect rub on, and we have insect repellent stuff to soak our clothes and sleepware in as well as the mozzie net. and we have also bought some water filtering drinking straws, but I feel that i'll want to drink bottled any way just to be safe!
