They've wanted a split for some time. The problem I forsee is the same as when India was granted independance - there will be a mass exodus to this country. In itself, that doesn't worry me, but we have enough trouble finding jobs with all the eastern europeans around.

I'm not absolutely certain that they've thought it all through thoroughly.

I doubt we will vote for independence in the 2014/15 referendum but if they go for the second choice of more devolved government that will get votes.

Re: is it time to cut scotland loose?
i think we stronger together but how the SNP is acting the last few month is starting to pee me off and half what they say is stupid you he want independence but he want to hand over his power to freach and germas by joing the eu and by scoring point in eu he trying to make use look silly, but cameron was right over the weekend, we pay 50m per day into the EU more that any other coutry in it, we let the eu fish in 80% of our seas for nothing, we pay in the bail out for these country who over spend & all we did ask for 3 thing at the weekend and they reject so we used our veto...

if scotland want indepence then it should be their choice.my own opinion on it would be SNP voters need to stop watching Braveheart and get a grip on reality.look at the mess the ROI`s in
