Oh poor baby, they look terrible. So glad he's healing well. ><
Just shows how frightening the whole situation really was. Hope there are no scars, physically or mentally.

I would have been besides myself! No wonder you three were so shaken! So glad he is healing up, but still makes me that so many irresponsible owners are out there.

Re: Rockys wounds
A big thank you to everyone. We are amazed at the amount of support we have received here, it has really made a difference. Rocky is still on the mend and healing very well. I took him out for a small walk yesterday and he didn't seem anyway affected so I think he will be fine.
We have decided that we are not going back to the park where this incident happend, just cannot risk it happening again. I honestly thought those two dogs were going to kill Rocky. It's a shame he will not be able to see his friends again though. He used to play with two spaniels and a Dobermann there along with a Labradoodle. I'm sure he will make other friends though as he is such a friendly little guy.
Once again thanks guys for all the support, great to know you are all there.

Re: Rockys wounds
Kathy I'm glad Rocky is healing well and there doesn't seem to be any repercussions. I too would avoid that park as I would be "on edge" the whole time I was there.
I used to mind a friends APBT when I lived in Cairns. One morning I was walking him before work around 6am in an off lead park, when this other guy's staffy x saw us and just charged straight at us.
I'm a bad judge of distances but he was probably a good 150-200 metres away. I yelled out to the guy but his dog just ignored him.
I quickly put mine back on his lead and tried walking reasonably quickly in the other direction, but mine had seen the other one coming and it was just too late, I couldn't pull him away.
Of course they went for it and I got thrown to the ground and almost caught in the middle of this absolutely ferocious sounding attack. Like you it seemed to go on forever and I couldn't stop them especially as his dog had hold of mines throat and mine had hold of his dogs jowl. I remember the guy not knowing what to do and I'm yelling at him to stop them. I grabbed a lump of wood/tree branch and said "try and jam this into your dogs mouth and push his jaw open enough that I can free mine".
Fortunately it worked and my dog let go straight away. I grabbed his lead and dragged him with me, while I saw the other guy belt his dog as he was putting it into the back of his van.
The whole thing so upset me and my friend who was down in the "big smoke" at the time arranged for a friend of his to come down from the country and take his dog back with him as he felt it too unsafe for me to continue looking after him in town.
I was sore for a few days after, lucky King's wounds were fairly superficical, but I lost my glasses and even though I searched for ages after I never found them.
When I met the ex and he also had an APBT (not sure what it was with these blokes from up there), I refused to walk the dog in this park and we used to bundle him in the car to another park 15 or so minutes away.
Having just rambled on about this - now almost 17 years later, I still am very cautious where I take mine and only choose very open areas where I can see pretty much what is around.
Paranoid...? Most definitely, however I never want to go through that again.
