My pictures seem to get squashed when I resize them to the forum standards for the competition entry ... any ideas ? : (

No, I'm resizing in Paint and uploading direct from my Laptop.

You're better off uploading them to photobucket & resizing them on there - it's a lot easier!

Yes, very simple (and free!). It's also very simple to upload from your computer.
