Hi every one lilly has a sore paw very itchy and red not only that she has lost hair around her ears and head bless her! took her to vets and they could not find any thing that has gone in to her paw but think it may be grass seed, lilly has been given synulox but she now has the runs i do not know if i should stop her takeing the tablets
also the bold patches vet said it was caused by mites O dear , 5 weeks ago lilly stayed with my daughter who has 4 cats and i did find when i got her home she was scratching her ears so i used frontline on Lilly but now vet tells me frontline does not kill mites so they gave lilly stronghold , happy to say she is not scratching now just hope her hair grows back i just hope her paw gets better , has any one had this problem?
Can i ask how do you put up a photo of your dog next to your user name? not very good on computer but would like to show you a picture of Lilly Smile

we had a GSD that got grass seed stuck in the corner of his eye. it can cause an infection but treated from the vet it soons clears up. also the fields and parks can carry all kinds of mites from all the dogs that go up and he also got mange which wasnt pretty but like everything treatment a milky substance in the bath soon cleared it up. long grass in the summer is the worst but the winter months arent so bad cos its even too cold for the mites i think. we always treat with flea and mite stuff now just to be on the safe side and the first sign of anything i dont like the look of they are straight to the vets. although i must admit staffies having short hair would be easier treated than the big thick coat our GSD had.

The stronghold will kill the mites and her fur should grow back about 6 weeks should be good . I would wash her sore food in a antiseptic wash see how she goes Smile

Aww - what kinds of mites? Demodex? Either way I hope it clears up and doesn't return. Heal up, missy!
