Losing weight again, off to the vet this afternoon...
First topic message reminder :
Mambo's losing weight again, he went down from almost 21kg to 19.2kg he's exactly the same as he was when we first got him from the shelter half year ago - have no idea what happened... we can see his ribs sticking out again and although he acts as usual, no change there - still very happy and with good appetite - he looks really small we worked hard to find out what food is good for him, we increased the daily amount and that's when he gained almost 2kg and we were happy he's on the right track, and now this again.
I hope it's nothing too serious and that it's only his usual digestion problems... have an appointment with a vet at 4;30 today, so we'll see...
PS. sorry for being quiet for long, the last few weeks have been manic!

Good luck, I'd be suprised if a 7kg lasts a month, Moo was gettng through that and 24 cans of sensitivity control wet food also.
Really hope it works, it certainly was a god send to me. Xx
it should last exactly 20 days, but we still have small bag ( lasts about 6 days) so all together it should be about a month... we feed him the'thin dog' portion right now, after he gains some weight we will probably start giving him a bit less so then hopefully the big bag will last longer
if this is going to work I'm pretty sure it will be the diet 'for life'. but first let's wait and see...

Well, as I said before, if it works then use it! Whatever's best for him. Let's hope you've found the answer to it all now & you can move forward from there.

Looking forward to hearing good things about his progress. Glad something is diagnosed at least.

just a quick update - Mambo's is putting on weight slowly now, he's got more energy and his skin looks healthier as well
we will carry on using RC for at least few weeks more (just bought another 14kg bag) and if he will be OK on it, I think we will just keep it the way it is.
unfortunately, the insurer turned down our claim (the symptoms occurred before we insured Mambo) and we ended up paying for all the tests, meds and food ourselves :(sometimes I think having a dog is more expensive than having a child!

Glad he is improving. Too bad about the insurer though.

Oh, that's a bummer! What a shame the vet didn't stretch the truth a little!

Glad Mambo is starting to put on a little weight.
What a pity you now have to add the food and medication costs into your everyday budget. It must be such a relief to finally have some answers and a positive result.
They certainly do seem to cost "as much as" kids some days, but the loyalty and love we receive in return makes it all worthwhile in the long run.

Does the dog have any other unusual symptoms? What did the vet say?
