What type of food??
Hi all
Hope you and your 'babies' are all doing ok
I was wondering what food your doggies are on? I'm currently changing Lola's food as the vet said her glands were emptying automatically because her stools arent hard enough.
So I'm weaning out the 'mixer' and weaning in Waggs - Premium complete and a 1/3 of tesco dog food in jelly She gets fed twice a day - 9am and 6pm.
Any suggestions??
Thanks
Lots of licks and kisses Lola & me

Re: What type of food??
I just swapped from James Wellbeloved onto fish4dogs and she loves it. Better poo's and you feed less so although its more expensive they don't need as much. Highly reccomend it

Re: What type of food??
Raw meat, cooked veges ie: carrots, cabbage, broccoli, pumpkin (never mushrooms). Rice and or pasta. A egg (I scramble mine in the microwave with a bit of milk) Natural bran and olive oil then sprinkled on the top.
They love apples & bananas in between meals, DON'T feed them citrus fruits, stone fruits or grapes.
Canned food is crap as it's too wet, dried food is a little better, however, it's still crap.
If it's not good enough for you to eat, then it's no good for your staffy. I never feed my Staffy any product that states it's for animal consumption.

I've been looking into what I'll feed Tate when we get him. I'm not sure what he will be on when we do, but so far I think we'll transfer him on to Wainwrights Salmon and Potato. Reasonable cost and the content seems good, as well as all the reviews saying how well balanced it makes a dogs digestion.

Re: What type of food??
we used to feed raw (we and Mambo loved it!) with some vegetables as treats (carrot, broccoli), sometimes some cheese and egg. but because of Mambo's digestion problems we switched to Royal Canin veterinary series hypo-allergenic for few weeks now. if it will make him better, he will stay on it for longer i guess.
feeding raw can be a good option if your dog doesn't have any serious and weird problems like ours (his small intestines don't work ) . still, it was the only food that Mambo could survive on before we found out what's wrong with him.
tbh i'm not quite sure about royal canin yet, but i'm doing what the vet told.
in general, I still recommend raw but if it's not for you try the top shelf dry food - more expensive but definitely worth it
