Will playing tug and encouraging growling make your dog aggressive?
Frim or loving tone?
Lola is driving me nuts!!
She was fab the first 2 weeks we got her and now it's like were going backwards.
She's stopped sitting at pavements, she won't leave the frisbee in particular! She won't even drop it for treats!
I have stopped letting her off the leash because her nose is glued to the ground and eats everything from chewing gum to other dog's sick!
She won't come on command to a frim tone or a nice/loving/happy tone.
She get her meals twice a day, 3 or 4 walk a day. At least 20mins each time.
She gets play and attention and cuddles.
She's got toys & a Kong.
I don't know what else to try!
Help!!
She growls LOTS when playing tug with a rope or her rubber rings (Will this make her aggressive)

Ha! She's settling in & seeing how far she can push you!
Don't worry about the tug. As long as you win the majority of tug games there's no problem, the growling is normal play. If you think it's getting a bit too boisterous, just stop it & let her calm down.
If her recall has slipped (and she's a terrible teenager now - knows everything, listens to nothing & nobody understands her!) then get a long line (they're quite cheap on ebay) and let her trail that behind her. Every so often call her, once only, and if she doesn't come back pick up the line & real her back to you, calling her all the time in a silly, exciting voice.
At home, start teaching her the 'leave' command. If she won't give something up, tell her "Leave" and offer a treat. But don't let her have the treat till after she's let go of the toy/frisbee etc.
The sitting at the curb is just a matter of going back to basics, I'm afraid.
She's going through a bit of a rebellious stage, which most of them do at that age, and you just need to go back to basics to reinforce what she already knows.
Don't worry! She'll come through it!

She is testing your patience! She's at that age! Don't worry, just keep the training firm and consistent. You could try a different lead which keeps the head up if your concerned, or take treats/a toy to keep her concentrated on you.
Ican't really answer the pole. I personally do play tugs with Moo, and yes she can snarl, if it gets to much I end the game. So no as long as she knows boundries it isn't going to maje her aggresive Xx

Re: Frim or loving tone?
She's just turned one and she sits and stares at me sometimes as if to say well I'm bored!!
So I'll have to go back to basis with her... she is good at leaving balls and tugs etc but the frisbee uh uh!
She's got a double strap collar and short lead, I just don't want her eating things on the extending. I just get stared at by other dog walkers for 'shouting at her'
When I go up to her to leash her when she's been eating she flinches away like as if I was going to hurt/hit her.
I just hope my girl is happy because she doesnt seem happy sometimes with all her sighing and staring and looks xx

Re: Frim or loving tone?
When she does come back to you, are you angry? I don't mean that you hit her or anything! It's just that if she senses that you're irritated or angry, she'll try to stay away!
As hard as it is, whenever she comes back or when you finally manage to get her collar to put a lead back on, praise her. That way she'll associate going to you with pleasureable feelings rather than apprehension.
Also, during the walk, put the lead on & take it off several times at different points of the walk so that she doesn't associate the lead going on with a particular area, or going straight home!

Sometimes i'm angry but not because of her ( I have health problems and get very sore and tired from all the walking) But she's improved my mood/depression SO much I couldn't be without her her
I place her on whenever I see a dog off the lead as she's in season and don't want any accidents xxx

Re: Frim or loving tone?
Of course, I remember you saying she's in season on the other thread! No wonder she's constantly sniffing around, she's looking for Mr Right!
I think you'll find that if you go back to basics (and take a few deep, calming breaths whenever she irritates you!) she'll begin to improve again when her season finishes!

Re: Frim or loving tone?
Agree back to basics and just have patience. Could you give her a 45-60 minute walk once a day instead of the shorter walks? This should help to tire her out a bit more.
If you can't due to health reasons is there a dog run or someplace she can chase a ball for that amount of time. You could also try a backpack and let her carry her water and some keys. The extra weight will also help tire her. Nothing too much at her age as she is still devolping.
