Is your dog loving

Billy is very exciting when we come in the house, but will never get on the chair and let you cuddle him, in fact he is a very distant dog if that makes any sense. He won't get on the chair or settee next to you, we only get the initial 5 mins when we get in the house. I feel so left put, especially having jack the other week who immedialtey jumped on my knee and stayed there.

Is there anything I can do

Dempsey's loving in his own way - if he's tired he'll cuddle up, but it's only so he can be comfortable & warm! Otherwise he's a little distant as well.

I think if that's the was a dog is, there's very little you can do about it without overpowering him & risking him getting irritable.

Sometimes, though, it's nice to not have a clingy dog.

it's becasue you left him with a strangers and put him in kennels lol only joking some dogs are like that my sam will sit on your knee all day long my xena will only sit on your knee for a few mins, my old sam she was a kneee lover also

sasha cuddles up when ever she gets the chance,she'll even keep your seat warm for you when you get up!she does this really cute thing when she puts her head on your shoulder and looks at you with her big brown eyes .sorry dont know how to make them more loving!

Callie is a cuddler...her favorite thing is to have a chew with her disgusting smelly tendon right in your lap . She also lets my kids hold her like a baby and pet her belly...hope this doesn't change as she gets older.

Lexi will snuggle up to you if you are stroking her but as soon as you stop she nudges you if you dont start again she wanders off

Monte and Frosty are cuddlers, but Piggy only wants it when she wants it. Lynne, you could always try putting marmite all over your knee so that billy will come right over. Guaranteed to work.

Each to there own Lynne, Billy does come on laps but also likes his bed on the floor with the boys

all dog are differnet like us humans some like cuddles some cant stand them

My two are very much cuddlers, Chance wasn't to begin with, but that didn't last long

Violet is a very cuddly dog - it's as if she can't sit at peace unless she's sitting on or beside you. If you sit on the floor cross legged, she has to sit in the space between your legs, and if we're on the train, she cries because she doesn't want to sit on the floor. This is how she sits when I'm using my laptop

Suki is normally a cuddler but does like her me time on occasion

Ledger will cuddle anyone given half a chance and always wriggles his way into the gap between me and the arm of the sofa and the other night I flaked out on the sofa at my parents and he lay alongside wrapping his paws round my leg he looked like a koala clinging to a tree

It is a comfort thing for him he will on the odd occasion take himself off to another room but always makes himself a cosy nest with duvets or cushions he can gather, this is how I found him this afternoon after leaving the duvet on the sofa while I went to make a cup of tea after a snooze after my night shift

Tilly is really antisocial to the point where she will not take her head off my foot on a morning to greet the newcomers to the house, if i show her too much attention then she just rolls onto her back for a good old t****e rub.

Pippa is very cuddly and I love it. She loves to get on my lap and snuggle on my neck. She will go off on her own though, but as soon as she sees anyone, she makes everyone feel so welcome.. she loves everyone to bits

Polly loves to cuddle for a while and then she gets too hot and takes herself off to cool down although she will cuddle any teddies, pillows or blankets left around, and anyone sleeping might wake up to find they have company snoring beside them

Charlie is a real cuddler, he won't sleep unless he is touching or laying on someone, I have to have my hand in his cage when he first goes in there at night then once he's asleep I get it back

They do both love to cuddle when they are covered in mud or have been in the lake though

Mia doesn't really cuddle, she will first thing in the morning for about 5 minutes, then she's off! She isn't allowed on furniture though so maybe that's y?

My two are both different. Bella is very cuddly always wanting to be beside you. As soon as you sit down she is right there. If she is playing and you call her she is happy to give cuddles and kisses. With Millie is has to be when she wants it. Try to cuddle her and say kisses and she turns her face away, huffs and moves away or leaves the room lol. She's the same with Bella. Bella always tries to cuddle in with her and sometimes she is quite happy to lie there but quite often she will huff and move away

Murphy is a sow when it comes to cuddles he would litterally sit on ur head if he thought he could balance for long enough! There is only so much cuddles a body can give but for murphy it jst not enough! I wouldn't change it for the world tho!

Ty loves cuddles (with me lol) he would quite happily cuddle all day up on the sofa if he was allowed up there lol. Kaos honestly doesnt stay still enough for cuddles and if u do have a cuddle off him it wont last more than 5 mins as he gets fidgity and hot and has to spread out by himself

Rocky is just a tart and loves cuddles from anyone, he will sit on my knee in the morning whilst I drink a cup of coffee then jump over to sit on Andy's knee and have a cuddle with him too.

He will snuggle up to either of us at night but it is usually me, if Andy's goes to have a snooze in the evening Rocky will join in.

He is a dog that certainly loves cuddles which is lucky as we both love that too.

Buster loves his cuddles. I am the favourite person, but he will quite happily go to anyone. It is quite funny when him and LuLu both decide they want to lie on my lap - it would be ok if he was as small as she is! He will try to lie on my boys laps aswell, but normally gives up and just makes do with a head on them instead!

both my dogs are super cuddly if i let them they would always be on me but they both compete to see who can get the closer to me and i end up with them both almost sat on my head lol dont really know how you can MAKE them more loving mabe it will just come with age

Pixee loves a cuddle first thing every morning, by jumping on our bed . She will sit on my lap when we go out driving, and as we were on holiday last week, she often fell a sleep on my lap in the car. She is not allowed on the furniture, except in the conney when the blanket in on, if we take the blanket off to sit in those chairs, she will happlier jump on your laps for a cuddle and stay there. As time goes by, she wants more and more cuddles. She use to be wary of us touching her when we first had her, bless her.

Jess has her favourites, she will cuddle with me on the sofa, and if i get up or im not at home, she will sit in my seat, and wait there.

She will cuddle my partner but she wont sit on his knee or get really close with him, she'd rather sit where i usually sit.

Its very difficult for me at the moment, we've recently moved to a bigger house and shes now got her own bed, so shes a little upset at night times as she's alone in her bed, but having a 14kg dog in your bed in summer time is a bit too hot! ha

Dont feel bad Lynne. I trained Tyson to be calm and not run and jump me when I got home. Wehn I have put the bags etc down, I make a fuss of him. Anyone else arrives and he goes nuts! Everyone else gets all the love and licks in the world and I am jealous!

He will cuddle with me on the couch but he also moves off to be on his own. He sleeps curled up with me and sometimes I wake with him snuggling me kneck. This not withstanding, I do get the feeling that he maybe loves others more than he loves me . If he had the choice f who to run to it would not be me.

Romeo can be very indifferent some times. during the day he is very independant and likes to do things on his own, he doesnt like to cuddle, but in the morning he always slips into bed for a snuggle, but that is the only time really. he will sit on your lap on his back al splayed out.. but you have to pick him up and put him there, but he will only stay like that for about 15mins on his own. I find when he is feeling moody he seeks me out, if something has put him out of sorts he wants to be on my lap or if he is scared, otherwise... he will actually get up and move away if i sit too close to him on the sofa
