Chase has found himself a new food bowl!
Chase has just ran out of food, so it was off to pets at home tonight...
When i get him a new bag of food i pour it into an airtight storage box, its easier to get the food out of and keeps it nice and fresh.
So i poured it in as usual and went to throw the bag away...came back to find this...

Pick your brain, I put a post up not so long back about dry food going stale. I got a storage box thing like yours, is yours air tight as mine isn't?. Does it keep fresh? and if so where was it from??

Yer um not sure if its 100% air tight, but the food stays fresh till it runs out.
You can get a airtight bin at pets at home but i think ther like £40, and its just a bin with a picture of a dog on the front!
The one ive got is just a standard storage tub, when you put the lid on it clips under at either end and keeps the lid tight. I think it was from the range a couple of years ago, but you can get them in argos or staples. I find the clip lid ones hold pretty tight.

Lol. Great photos. I think this is what my dog dreams of at night. Can't let him see these...

Cheers, seen the 'proper' ones for £40 which seemed a lot, but when people say air tight I imagine a cereal plastic thingy, now as far as I know they don't make em 15kg size! Xx

yer i wouldnt even think of spendin £40 on one. I think as long as the lid is pretty tight the food will stay fresh. Saves you sticking your arm in the bag for the last few scoops as well lol

Chase is one hungry puppy dog !! Was he trying to eat as much as he could before you put the lid on!!
I got a 15 kg bag of puppy biscuits for Winston and got a crate like yours but I left the biscuits in the bag and folded the top over with clothes pegs so hopefully it stays fresher. ( mind you the way he is getting stuck into them..they won't get the chance to go stale!! )

Its weird, i was looking through the food guide, and for a dog his size at his age he should be on large breed puppy food.
The large breed food is for dogs up to 18 months old, and for dogs that ther final weight will be over 25kg.
Chase is 16 months old and already weighs 23.5 Kgs. But i wouldnt consider a staff a large breed dog.

He's just saving you on washing up by not using his bowl. What a helpful dog
