Thank goodness he was found and treated quickly, could have been a very sad ending. Thanks to the PDSA for all their help.

Just saw this on the news and however much its a horrible thing to happen, and awful for the dog and the owner, its nice to see a well behaved staff on the news, especially when he sat with the little girl all over him and he just sat and took the attention. Might make some people think twice about our breed!

I read this from another board and it made my blood boil.

I read that story and the one from the sspca, there are some sick, disgusting people around. Can't type what I want to say about them

But it make you think... did they just attack the dog for fun or are the police looking for someone with a chunk taken out of them i hope so... was the poor dog just trying to protect the home....

lucky the ladys daughter wasnt home... if they can do such an horific thing to a dog then it boggles the mind as to what might have happened if someone was home....

it goes to show how much our dogs love us and what they are prepared to do for us.... i know id kill to protect my dogs... as would they die to protect me...

sucks that that loyalty got put to the test in this case.....

im soooo glad that the dog survived.. and i hope he lives a long and happy life...

On a lighter note, it seems Dempsey hasn;t lost his humour, you can see his playfulness in his eyes You can't keep a good dog down

that article made me cry ... how on earth can someone even think of plunging a knife into a poor dog so many times. if only i could do the same to them. makes me so so upset and angry. i would kill anyone who ever tried to hurt my staff and would have no regret what so ever. i love my girl and would give my life for her. i hope the scumbags were caught and sentenced to prison. we all know what happens in prison.

yes I would like to think they had to share their cell with an animal lover!!

If you read further down in the comments part apparently there was also another dog there a puppy who didn't make it bless him RIP.
