Dentist @ 9
Can't stand the dentist but I appear to have broken a wisdom tooth in half. Didn't even notice till last night . I hate the dentist with a passion. Not a happy bunny!

I had all of my wisdom teeth removed about 10 years ago. Good luck and hope it isn't too tramatic for you.

Re: Dentist @ 9
I broke my wisdom tooth last year too. I don't blame you...I never enjoy the dentist either The good thing about it is when it's over you don't have to stress about it anymore though.
Hope it goes well

Re: Dentist @ 9
I'm really stressed about it, its a real fear. Never used to be, had to see the orthadontist every few weeks when I had braces. That was years ago and since then I have a real phobia.
Thanks, and yes Gemma at least once its done its over but if I have to have it out it means the hospital, can't do it in the chair.
Proper worried

Re: Dentist @ 9
I used to be terified of the dentist, after a visit as a child, until I found a very good one receommended by a colleague. I had a wisdom tooth extracted and honestly did not feel a thing. I have a phobia of needles, very bad but I can go to the dentist and have anything done now. You will feel much better once it is over. I know this is easy to say but please try not to keep thinking about it.
If you are not good with them maybe have a chat to your doctor, explain the problem, and see if they can recommend someone in your area.
If your dog was in pain you would want something done about it quickly, it's the same for you. Afford yourself the same compation. You will be fine.

Re: Dentist @ 9
Thanks all Kinda went..........
Dentist; Yes, you have broken it, I'm going to have to repair it.
Me; I new you would say that, I hate fillings.
Detist; Well I can always take it out.
Me; Erm, no a filling will do.
£50 and half hour later, I have a very numb mouth but its fixed just a minor lecture about smoking and eating too many sweets
Thank god thats over with!! Xx

Glad to hear it wasn't too dramatic. Getting them out isn't too terrible. It's a bit hard to eat for a day or two and you have to flush the wound out with a syringe for a week or so but you never have to worry about them again.

Glad to hear it went OK. I too would have it taken out but that's me. Be careful of hot drinks!!

Im so scared of the dentist i cant go,not even with toothache.Last time i went to the dentist i had a filling done and he did it wrong so i was constantly in pain till it fell out wich instantly took the pain away. Now i have a tooth with a hole in but never had a problem with it hurting, touch wood.So after that nightmare i wont go.

Re: Dentist @ 9
I have had the same dentist since I was born lol! He knows me and my attitude. It just has got continuasly worse as I have got older.
He was an old generation dentist, I have multiple fillings but I go every 6 months and haven't had one in 2 years. I have great teeth to look at (if I say so myself lol) but the trauma just gets worse every time I go.
Still have my regular check up in January lol Xx

Oh dear Janey, if it was Moo you would be straight to the vet for it to be sorted out, afford yourself the same compassion. Get it done as soon as you can.

Re: Dentist @ 9
Good luck Janey, a temporary filling will soothe pain, but wisdom teeth are generally trouble and we're better off without them so consider it.
I used to be terrified of dentists as well - so much so that I had to be sedated. Now I go to a brilliant dentist in Camberley - it's not far from you!
Thinking of you ....

Re: Dentist @ 9
Be guided by your dentist Janey, sometimes wisdom teeth are poorly formed and just can't be saved (I lost all 4 of mine during my first pregnancy and don't miss them one little bit). Whipping your broken one out won't take a minute, less time than refilling in fact.
