Shattered my Wrist
Today really was not my day...earlier this afternoon me and some friends decided to go skating. I was completely minding my own business, until some person decides to come along and ended up roughly pushing me over. I put my hand out to stop the fall and ended up completely snapping my wrist. So that gave me a cast that I will probably have for about 6 weeks, along with unbearable pain. If anyone has broken a bone they would know how painful it really is...I also have to type with one hand like now. I know it was probably an accident, but some people really get on my nerves these days
The first thing Monty did when I came home was sniff the cast on my arm and look up at me as if saying, "What did you do to yourself this time?" That's my boy, he knows how to cheer me up!

Re: Shattered my Wrist
This is what really puts me off ice skating - we sometime watch people at the ice rink, but there is always some idiot who is zooming about, really close to people who are clinging on for their lives to the side rail. My last wrist break was an operation with metal sticking out, so I don't take any risks at all now!
Hope you feel a bit better soon - eventually you'll be so good at doing stuff one handed that you won't even notice the cast

OUCH! Hope you're not in too much pain - do you have any painkillers?
I don't skate, but I enjoy watching ice hockey. The idea of me sliding around on two knives on a sheet of ice doesn't exactly thrill me!

Re: Shattered my Wrist
Thanks everyone, feeling a bit better today. Not as painful, though my wrist does throb. I now have the ability to sit out of anything involving work on my hand Good thing is it was my right wrist and I'm left-handed, so I can still write.
Very true, I don't have to tidy much and I got my older brother on Monty duty
Yes, I did take some painkillers. I was never into skating a whole lot either but once the family went I kind of liked it and learned how. When I was younger and saw people skating I thought, "how do people do this!?"
Thank you for the offer, but I should be fine
