Tennis balls
Do any of you give your dogs tennis balls and if so do you spend forever trimming all the bits of fluff off in a desperate attempt to stop them eating it and turning their poos luminous green!!

Re: Tennis balls
Vinnie has a regime .. he starts throwing it around for himself .. then he rips all the green fluff off .. then he chews it .. throws it again and thennnnnnn .. looses interest haha.
Vinnie is good he wont eat stuff like that if he does we just tell him to drop it and he does.

Re: Tennis balls
Tinkerbell isn't really into playing with any kind of ball, she prefers her tug toy. But my last dog (sheepdog) loved tennis balls and he would rip them up but not eat the fluff either. Don't think I would go to the trouble of trimming them, I would propably just give a different kind of ball!

Re: Tennis balls
Moo de-fluffs it and just has the plastic ball, she then trys to play tuggsies with it but because its so slobbery and slippy it ends up just 'popping' out her mouth! One of her longest lasting toys, she can't grip it so can't pop it!

Re: Tennis balls
I use tennis balls for chucking and fetching. The ones from pet shops last one walk but real ones like slazenger tournament last for ages. I've been on the same ball for two weeks now. Wouldn't think they would last as chews though lol.

Re: Tennis balls
I get used tennis balls from a tennis coaching clinic in the area. The are pretty done for tennis, have zero fluff and cheap as chips so Tyson can destroy as many as he likes.

Re: Tennis balls
My dogs love their tennis balls. The first ball lived over a month, the second just a few days.
Re: Tennis balls
Lola destroys tennis balls in seconds, but I came across a few cricket balls over the field we walk and she loves those and they last a long time.

Re: Tennis balls
Mine love tennis balls. Millie pulls the fluff off then sits and bites the plastic into little pieces and throws them on the floor, then Bella picks up the little pieces and eats them, so no tennis for a while until Bella is better with leave and learns that not everything is supposed to be eaten.

Re: Tennis balls
Mine loves tennis balls as well. He loves to destroy them and play tug with them. He will even play tug with a chunk. Good thing he doesn't eat it though.

Re: Tennis balls
blayde loves tennis balls! they dont last him 2 seconds if left on his own with it so now i jus use them for walks and then take it off him wen we get in. i find that the sollid rubber balls are better- like the ones that are used at primary schools
