Bad boy, Dempsey!

On Monday at work, the photocopier repair man came to the office. Nice guy & Dempsey's always liked him.

However, there was already a guy in the office - lovely, elderly man who Dempsey absolutely adores! He's ever so gentle with the guy & even puts up with his walking stick (he usually hates walking sticks). The repair man walks in , says "hi" to me & the elderly man, who he's seem before, and slapped him on the back!

Oops! Shouldn't have done that! Dempsey went into protection mode, got himself between the elderly man & the repair man & snarled, barked & lunged at him, before I could react. No contact was made at any point, and as soon as I said "no, leave" he did, but he watched him very carefully from then on!

Sounds like our household. Suki is very much a protector. They seem to confuse signs of affection or friendship with an act of aggression.

Don't think the repair man was very happy, but the elderly man was tickled pink that Dempsey would want to protect him!

Good boy Dempsey, who knows what could have happened next if he hadn't stepped in there

wow! thats good that you know you have a dog that will always look after you, but lucky he didnt go too far!
just needs to understand the difference between whats a nice pat on the back and whats a bad one! lol
