Great pics Ella...............................I'm not too clued up when it comes to snakes. How many of them can you safely handle??????
Guest- Guest
Re: updated photos of my snakes!
Thanks well i suppose with 'safely' handling them it depends on how confident you are, for me i handle all my snakes on my own, but I wouldn't advice anyone handle my white lipped python (the only one with no photo here) if you weren't very used to handling p**sed off large snakes.
Also one to bear in mind is the western hognose as he is technically venomous, he's unlikely to bite but it's something to remember

Re: updated photos of my snakes!
I plan to breed a few of them when they are mature enough and big enough which won't be for a couple of years yet

Re: updated photos of my snakes!
Ella,
Love your pics! I have been thinking about getting a pet snake for a while.
I have never had a snake before, given you have a "few" lol.
Could you give me any tips/help.
Was thinking Corn or Royal...pros/cons
Cheers

Re: updated photos of my snakes!
Thanks!
Haha yer just have a few
Well as you can see i have corns and a royal, so it depends whether you like a heavier bodied snake then a royal over a corn.
Royal can have a tendency of going off food, especially males coming to breeding season, but they can go off food for months and months which can be worrying if your a first time snake owner. However if you read up about them and understand that they aren't going to drop dead if not eaten for a few weeks then either a royal or corn are very good for first timers

Thanks for your reply
How are yours when it comes handling? I appreciate it probably changes from snake to snake.
I have done research on both corns and pythons really not sure how to decide which really
Thanks

Re: updated photos of my snakes!
Well most of mine bar a couple, one in particular who is very very aggressive and will only tolerate minimal handling they are all really easy to handle.
If you are wanting a snake you can handle and show to people if they come round i would personally stick to either a corn or royal.
Well if you can't decided get both

It's a good kit however it doesn't include a thermostat which you HAVE to have unless you want a cooked snakey!
This is a better set:

Re: updated photos of my snakes!
Haha no worries, well it depends on what species you get but say corns/king/milk snakes then it would last 10-12 months but if you get a very quick growing one then obv you would need to upgrade alot sooner

Re: updated photos of my snakes!

Re: updated photos of my snakes!
Fair enough, well that link i sent you would be perfectly fine for a royal for a good while as they hate large spaces, so if you got a baby then it will last months
