Re: Dog leads
I like them becuase it lets your dog have a little more freedom to roam and gives you control when you want it

Re: Dog leads
Tilly had 1 until it was left lying around and she decided to eat it:)) Its great for my daughter as she can't take tilly off lead , only time I could do with it is when we have the busy dog walker days. When its quiet off the lead is fine and keep an eye out for the oncomers , job done . When its busy I always like to have her on lead as although she is very friendly she is also very excitable and the dog lovers start to back off when they get their clothes dirty. If you feel some value in it , get a heavy duty 1 (25kgs for 1 dog or 50kgs for 2)

Re: Dog leads
BTW the tape ones are absolute rubbish as the tape gets twisted then won't retract , pull it , then reel it , it's a pain , go for the cord one every time )

Re: Dog leads
Funny you should say that, but I found the cord ones worse! The one I had kept sticking!
I have a big tape one for Dempsey & it's lasted well although I rarely use it now.

Re: Dog leads
I use them for ours but my two are under 25kg - you just have to buy them by weight... i brought mine from kmart they were $6.00 aud each and like i said they do 25 kg... they are working really well..

Re: Dog leads
iv got a super heavy duty one as i think a 25kg staffie will have far more pulling power han a 25kg dog of another breed mines 40kg+ just to be on the safe side

Re: Dog leads
i use a flexi giant which is the tape kind,is 8m long and suitable for dogs upto 50kg. it cost £32 but it is great. it gives barney so much freedom when we are places where it is best to have him on the lead. he can run at full speed and it will not break,as has been tried a few times. just make sure you look at the weight rating when you buy one and dont go for cheapo nasty ones as you will just have to replace them and mibbee even your dog if it breaks when you least expect it to near traffic etc. good luck in your quest.

Re: Dog leads
i have to disagree with you there. i had a flexi 8m cord one for years which was great but the spring eventually broke so i bought a flexi giant 8m tape 50kg one which is far better to use than the last one i had but it is all down to personal preferance. just make sure you get one that is sufficiant for the weight of your dog.davemck3834 wrote:BTW the tape ones are absolute rubbish as the tape gets twisted then won't retract , pull it , then reel it , it's a pain , go for the cord one every time )
