Thinning fur.
Hiya,
Jemma has yet another problem lol.
For a while now she has been looosing fur, and has resulted in becomming thin on the back of her neck and all over her back.
i took her to the vets a while back, asked for melaseb shampoo as she had an allergic reaction to the other shampoo i used to bath her with which made her come out in hives.
i did suspect ring worm, but dnt think its tht as the hair loss is not in round patches. it doesnt seem to itch and is not red.
can any one offer advice? and do u think i shud take her back to the vet?
she seems fine in herself
many thanks

Re: Thinning fur.
I had the same problem with Sisko, the vet tested for fungal, yeast, parasites etc and all were negative.Initially they could pluck his hair and it broke off , by the time we waited for ringworm culture etc it was regrowing. The first vet wanted me to bathe 3 dogs and ten cats in special shampoo!!!. Glad i waited but it still cost a fortune to find out what it wasn't lol.
