Insured and feeling good!! Empty Insured and feeling good!!

Post by Charlene_Frank Fri Oct 21 2011, 14:18

Well my month’s free insurance from the Vets with Pet Plan ran out – so I done the responsible thing and phones Pet Plan and got Frank insured!

I was never very sure if I was going to Insure him or put a set amount of money away every month for the emergency that I hope never happens, however I know myself that I would end up spending the money as my saving skills are poor, and I suffer from compulsively buying anything that looks like it could cause my feet serious pain!! lol Wink

So I called Pet Plan and I’ve taken out the best cover I could for Frankie, Cover4 Life but I had a bit of a giggle on the call, the guy asked for Franks Date of birth, and then said “aww hes only a few months old” … then next question was in the pasted 5 years has Frank had seriously illness? … No he is 3 months old! Lol rolling on the floor

However the point to this post was I have received the contract in the post now and had a good read thru it – and Frank is covered for up to £2000 a year paid for treatments such as massages, and herbal treatments!! Oh my boys gonna be looked after!! hypnotised

How much are you paying with pet plan??

We went with M&S as we have our other staff with them.

Its costing me just under £30 each for my two (thats with lots of claims for my older staff!!)

We would not be without the insurance. Rocky is also covered with Pet Plan on their Life policy. We were given a months free insurance from WoodGreen Animal Shelter when we adopted him and just decided to carry on with it.
Did a bit of research on other companies but cover not as good. This costs £19.00 per month.

Pet plan wanted to charge me nearly £40 for my older staffy so went with M&S as was only £14 which has gradually gone up with inflation etc

The best thing I ever did was take out insurance for Dempsey - nearly £6000 worth of claims later I breath a sigh of relief!

I started with M&S but changed to Sainsburys. More than happy with the service of both, but changed because M&S wanted to charge a ludicrous renewal amount.

i looked into insurance and then changed my mind. not all vets visits can be claimed for and not all illnesses or diagnostic procedures either. the ads dont make it clear that there is an excess fee either.

Yes, but they wanted to double the premium! Sainsbury's have been just as good & even paid out for special diet food which M&S refused.

I've nothing against the service of M&S, just thought they were taking the p*ss with the renewal premium!

M&S and Sainsbury's were very clear about the excess - M&S was £70 & Sainsbury's is £75. For me, they've been fantastic - I could never have found nearly £6000 for the treatment Dempsey's already had in his 2+ years!

I am £26.98 a month for Frank, on the Elite Life Cover!!

Im covered for pretty much everything, even complementary treatments frank may need!

It was made very clear to me that i pay the £75 excess for every new illness/injury a year .... if its the same illness or injury i only pay it once!

i think its brilliant, and it has given me peace of mind!! Big Grin
