Janey, you should get one of the doggie newspapers weekly - they list loads of companion dog shows which anyone can enter, the dog doesn't have to be registered with the kennel club, and can be a Heinz 57, nobody cares. Some do a couple of breed classes, but then there are lots of other classes, like dog with the glossiest cloat, dog the judge would most like to take home and dog with the waggiest tail! They are a lot of fun and the entry money (normally really cheap) goes to charity. Lots of Rescue Centres hold them.

There are a couple of shows here, but no fun ones. Our Surrey county show has one but its so naff!! All the rest, 'Losely park' do a show once a year but again you have to be registered, and you can't take your dog even to watch! I would love to get into proper showing, I think its amazing but having a heinz 57 there isn't much chance of that! I do all the charity dog walks but thats about it here! Jesus, everyone looks down on Staffies where we go, apart from the the ones who we know and they adore her!! I would love to show off her obbedience, it really is amazing, and without seeing it I can't describe, but there isn't a lot round here for that. Even some of the charity walks the dogs have to be kept on lead and I can't do that with her! Just love to show off an amazingly trained rescue, if only to change peoples perceptions!!

Cheers for the link and I didn't realise Adult Ed did courses!! (My mum worked there for years, and 5 mins from where I live! Thats not really what I am after, her training is amazing, I really want to just show her!! She has it all, apart from papers Sad

I don't need to go to classes and I am afraid thats what it is, and it isn't bloody cheap!

I guess thats the my only downside in a rescue, I can't show her off even though she is so amazing, and in my eyes stunning Big Grin

I'm sure there would be some companion dog shows near you throughout the summer!

If not, why don't you contact your local rescue centre & sugest they do one for fundraising?

Sadly I think my local shelters ship staffies off to others, hence why I ended up at Battersea. Our local RSPCA (which is quite a drive away) apparently doesn't take Bull breeds at all! Its a rather negative breed here, hence I rarely see any, and all the competions are registered only! It may be me, single female, fag in the hand and a staffie! Well thats what I think people imagine anyway! Lol, soz going off on one agian xxx
