Puppy made Summer look tiny.
Hi all,
was putting a cupboard in my moms car on Saturday and a young girl was walking her staffie pup past the house, he was absolutely gorgeous, blue with speckles of red, fell madly in love with him, asked her how old he was and she said 14 weeks! He looked absolutely massive!!!! At least as big as a full grown Jack Russell, Summer is about 15/16 inches from paw to head when sitting and about 13 inches from paw to shoulder when standing if that makes sense, (she doesnt like being measured) this other pup was at least 18/20 inches from paw to head when sitting, could be a bit more, I was stooped down and he put his front paws on my lap and head butted me, thats how big he was, he made Summer who is 6 days older than him look about 6 weeks old, I thought Summers paws were big, but his were gigantic. Although he was a lovely boy, am glad Summer is a little smaller, but does this sound right? The vet has said she is growing fine for her age, still has a bit of a pot belly (well so have I, so we match lol) and her weight is great for her age.
See, here I am again, panicking.

Re: Puppy made Summer look tiny.
I wouldn't worry too much..honestly the difference in size between my Jethro and Winston is amazing ...
Winston is already longer , taller and heavier than Jethro..Jethro is 12 years....Winston is nearly 7 months! They all develop differently.

Re: Puppy made Summer look tiny.
Don't forget that males can be significantly bigger than females!
Anyway, if they're too big they can look out of proportion.

............and of course, the bigger ones don't conform to the Breed Standard whereas yours do!

The trouble with one that grows too big is they can be classed as type even if you have a pedigree for the dog you need to be sensible with dda act .
Yours sound absolutly perfect dont worry
