Might sound a silly question but how often do you worm your puppy? She was wormed at 10 weeks when we took her to the vets for her jabs and micro-chipping, she's now 18 weeks and I just wondered if she would be due another dose? She doesn't look OR act like she has any but would it be best to do it as a precautionary measure?

you can get over the counter wormers but the vet can give you a broad spectrum wormer that works great

Oops, left it a little late then! lol
I've looked into a few and found most people recommend Drontal so will give that a go, thank you Smile

worming regularly is very important. we were told my wee man had been wormed when we got him at 8 weeks and so left it a bit but he wasnt thriving he was 8 weeks old when we got him and hadnt gained mor than 1/2 an ounce in the first 2 weeks. the vet gave him a wormer as a precaution when he was given his vaccines and the size of the ones we got out of him they were huge poor we thing. anyway took him back to the vets for another check up and she said he had never been wormed and had a really bad infestation. his age and size it was dangerous really. now i only take him to the vets for his wormer untill he is a bit older then it will be over the counter ones.

thumbs up

I use the ones from the vet cause they include prevention of lungworm as well as tapeworm & roundworm.

Ah, thank you Caryll. I read a little on lung worm and it being transmitted by slugs and snails, with our weather being perfect for the little blighters at the moment it's probably best to go that route Smile
