Dog Traveling to Europe!

Post by Ollie97 Thu Jul 20 2023, 10:28

Hi guys,

Plan to drive with my staff to Germany this summer. Just noticed the laws stating that they're a banned breed but things aren't very clear. Online it states things might be fine if she only stays for <4 weeks? She is full Kc registered, and the vaccines/health certificate stuff is all sorted.

Am feeling very cautious now, worried about a fine or even worse, the authorities seizing my pup!
Has anyone had any experience with traveling in Europe with their dogs?

Thanks!

Hi I am also looking for the same sort of help please. I plan to move to Cyprus in January and don’t want to have to fly my staffy in the cargo hold. We would prefer to drive but seeing a lot of countries have banned staffs. I am going to ask at the relevant embassy’s to check if it is ok to at least travel through the countries. Maybe you could check with the German embassy.
If anyone has any info or experience it would be a great help for me too though

Hi,
We contacted the German authorities and it turns out staffies are allowed. Other breeds are banned but it depends on the region within Germany.
There don't seem to be any restrictions for the countries we travel through (France, Netherlands, Belgium).
Good luck with your move to Cyprus!
