I’ve been watching some videos on the net, as you shouldn’t.
Came across a video about a stray dog who cannot sleep as he has severe nightmares. It’s really heartbreaking to see him shake and howl to the death until he wakes again.

Anyway, a vet takes him on and it turns out he has distemper damage to his nervous system, 2 bad scars on his side which probably got infected, and severe anxiety due to having been beaten. All this at less than a year old.

The treatment is based on essential oils massage to try to get him to relax, and he is then put into a blue room : blue blanket with oils sprayed on it, and blue light.
You see the dog fall asleep and no more nightmares. Even the vets and personnel come and go whilst the dog finally rests.

Happy ending as dog gets a family, finally.
But what was interesting was the colour therapy applied. Looks like a nice and fairly viable alternative to certain chemical medications ...

Anything is better than chemicals ive never known a dog to have distemper but i know its injections amd medication to treat it. The internet is a blessing ......sometimes also a curse.

Wow that sounds really interesting. Would love to see more done on this therapy. I love anything that can help our four legged ones.

I’ve currently got a rescued cat who apparently had coryza (cat flu) as a kitten. We call him Darth Vader for obvious reasons ...
Cortisone injection had made no difference to his condition so we’re currently trying treatment by essential oils.
Tonight is the first night (since Thursday) that I get the impression he was breathing a bit better praying

I think it’s often a case of the cats not liking dogs actually Laughing
