Made a big Mistake. Advice needed please

Iv been an arse and have been driving illegally, Iv been to court and have been told I'm going to prison for 6 months. My lawyer thinks I'll be out after 8 weeks, I don't have family who can watch my boy as they have small dogs & they don't get on. I really don't know how this works as Iv never been to jail, I don't want to lose my boy as he's my world. Has anyone ever been in this situation, would police just rehome him or would they put him down. Iv been on Google & can't get a proper answer. I'm praying they might look after him & I get him back but I doubt it. I don't know what to do. He's the best we dude in the planet & it's killing me. I'm such an idiot.

Is there no one else you can get to look after him? What about boarding kennels, or would that not be affordable?

Just guessing, but I'm not sure why the police would take him unless they deemed him a banned breed or unless he was posing a danger. It sounds more like a welfare issue for your dog, that there is no one to look after him. Have you contacted any rescue centres? There might be one you could pay to look after him for you or who, worst case scenario, who you could sign him over to.

the dog I believe is temporarily signed over to a person/family they all have criminal record checks too best of luck

Thanks for the replies, I'll look into the fostering. He isn't a banned breed. If not fostering then I'll need to try & find the money for kennels. It's not until July so Iv got time to sort it.

just make sure you put money past for food and give them plenty of notice he will.be more settled in a house id believe than kennels

I can't offer any better advice than that given but I hope you can sort a temporary home for your boy.
