I've ranted about the cost of Max's ins. since day one (started at £26 through the KC) .. tho never actually did owt about it Blushing

Anywho, I ranted a LOT more last year when the renewal came through at £45!!!!!! Surprised .. apparently due to the big rise in vets charges!, but still never got round to canceling the policy after giving them a gobfull down the phone about "how the hell can you justify an increase like that angry " ..

Then .. last week I get this years renewal of ...... wait for it ........ £50.61p, and an excess of £85 Surprised Surprised Surprised Surprised .. thats more than I pay for my truck, and my motorbike put together !! at wits end

Needless to say, they can shove it!

I've opened a savings account at my bank now rather than line their pockets shame on you .. and if anything serious were to happen god forbid, I'd rather stick it on a credit card then pay it off no talking

Rant over Big Grin

OUCH - Andy that does sound quite steep, have you tried searching online through someone like Compare the Meerkat, sorry market. We got Rocky insured with More Than at £18 per month. His renewal will be coming through soon though so will be intersting to see how much it goes up this year. As for the increase in vets fees I don't believe that as we still pay the same for Rockys annual check up and boosters as we did 3 years ago.

I know Kathy its blo0dy ridiculous .. I couldn't log onto my tinterweb banking to cancel the direct debit quick enuff Laughing

It's bad enough anyway, but any bits and piece's he's had done over the years ALWAYS comes to just below the excess, so we have to pay each time, and haven't made a single claim angry

I've decided to go with another separate savings account that I'll dip into for anything he might need medically, and if not, then its a nice little bonus Wink

Just cant believe the robbing b'stards, and daft I was not cancelling it sooner doh

That's ridiculous for not claiming either!
Ours came round for renewal at an extra £6 per month and they refused to budge on the price (fair enough we claimed last year) but if they try to increase again next year without us claiming anything they can stuff it! We pay more for pet insurance than we do on house insurance? confused

Ours was the same with pet plan, despite no claims. I'm with animal friends now after reading good reviews, haven't had to claim yet but still only paying £12 a month, after a year of being with them.

I pay about £25 per month with Sainsbury's for the Premier £7,500 lifetime cover. It has turned out to be a bit of a life saver as Maisey was seriously ill in October 2013 and they have paid out £4,500 so far and she is still being treated for hepatitis. When she reaches the £7,500, which she probably will in the next 12M, will have to struggle to keep up her treatment. They now do a Premier £13,500 cover which they didn't have when I originally took out the cover. Another good thing, the vet deals direct with them which is worth checking when taking out any cover.

Mine is £22.75 per month with Animal Friends on the Superior Plus option, which I think is £4K per year per condition but with no limit on lifetime cover.

I changed from LV because the AF offer was lifetime cover, albeit a bit more expensive.
