Hates Rain

Since we adopted Milo in April this is the first day we have had substantial rain and find that poor Milo absolutely hates it. We're having a hell of a job getting him to go out the house & have to put a lead on him and lead him down the garden looking very very dejected until he goes toilet. I then give him praise and a treat when he goes back in but now I'm thinking I may be rewarding the unwanted behaviour.

Does anyone else have this problem & how do you deal with it?

Most staffies hate the rain, use vocal praise rather than treats . My dog drags me to the nearest shelter

Loki hates it....jumps up my legs, I had to carry him to the vets the other day because he wouldn't walk in it and I was going to be late...

Suki is the same. We still use treats to lure her out to go but she is extremely food motivated.

Given up walking Moo when its raining - mum picked her up today and took her back to her house - she wouldn't even get out the car to go inside so mum left her in the car

Daisy is a nightmare in the rain, for ages I had to take her into the garden on the lead to do her business, now she will go on her own but very reluctantly!

Loki will not go out in the rain he won't go to the toilet he just sits there and shakes

Bug too.. We have been known to hold an umbrella over her head to get her to go for a wee in the garden lol!!
