Bella :)

Hello everyone,

My name is Sam and I am a proud mommy to a 5 month old female staffy named Bella.
Last night I googled why Bella likes to lick and lightly nibble our earlobes to show my husband that it is just the staffy way of showing affection. I came across this sight and was so excited to see that there was a staffy site!

When we decided to get a dog, we both decided that our dog would have to be a staffy as I have had two boys, Jake and Duke, while I was growing up so of course, my love for staffys started at a young age.
So the search started. We originally wanted a blue male staffy and decided to order him from the UK, seeing as we live in Spain, we thought a 3 hour flight wouldn't be too traumatic for the little guy. We corresponded with a lady via email who had given us a few choices of pups and we both were incredibly excited. Things just moved really quickly from there. She was willing to send him off with out payment and told us to transfer the money via Western Union to an account in the Cameroon. That is obviously where we realised there was something VERY wrong with this situation. So we told this woman to go jump and continued our search.

Eventually I found a guy in Malaga who had one male and one female left. He kept telling me how wonderful the little girl was and that she was his favorite of the litter. We decided to go for the male who was gorgeous, same colours as Bella but had no black on him. I phone this guy up to say we would take him only to be told the next day that his girlfriend had accidentally sold him (before she knew we were taking him) so little Bella was the only one left. He wasn't actually going to sell her but decided that if he could find her a good home, that he would. We decided to take her, even though she wasn't blue and wasn't a male.
I can honestly say that there was no other staffy out there for us but Bella. It was just meant to be.

So we drive about an hour and 15 minutes from where we live to go and fetch her on a Tuesday evening, I was so excited and nervous at the same time. I couldn't wait to see our girl.
When this guy arrived, he got out of the car and greeted us. He chatted for a few seconds and all I could think was 'Open the door! I wanna see our girl!' When he opened the passenger door, our little girl was sitting on the floor, facing the dashboard. she looked at us by moving her head to the side and when I said ''Hello my baby!'' She wagged her tail, got up and walked, more like waddled, toward me. From that moment it was love at first sight. She was 11 weeks old then and was so small compared to how big she is now. We decided to name her Bella because the word 'bella' in Italian means beautiful.

Bella is now 19 weeks and 5 days old, she is more at home than she could ever be. We love her so much and wouldn't swap her for the world

We had originally agreed with our friends to take one puppy from their litter of six, but when we went to pick Millie up there was just poor little Rascal all alone without a home to go to. My wife (rascal-girl above) picked her up and she promptly fell asleep in her arms. We just looked at each other and both knew there was no way we could leave this little darling behind when we left. So now we have our pair and we are so glad we do.
