Hi everyone, my name is Kim and we have adopted a beautiful staffy puppy (tried to upload a pic but it won't attach, don't know what I'm doing wrong! She is now just over four months old, we have had her for two months after she was found abandoned in a park at approx 10 weeks old. She is full of love and our boys are besotted with her x

Congrats on your rescue.

How did you decide to rescue and how did this particular dog, out of the hundreds of homeless dogs out there, come into your life?

We decided we wanted to adopt a dog in need rather than get one from a breeder as there are so many that have been abandoned that need good loving homes. We contacted various charities including the RSPCA and battersea but they told us they could not place a dog with us as our youngest is under 8 years old and because 95% of their intake are strays and they cannot (for obvious reasons) know the dogs history they would not consider placing a dog with us. They said to put our names down for a puppy and keep us on record. I had always wanted a staffy as I know despite the ridiculous reputation they have that they are 'nanny dogs' bought up in the right environment, as Indie has testified to. We found through a local charity, a dog walker found her tied to a bench in a park in southall, he had seen her when he first got to the park and thought her owner was near by, when they came back from their walk she was still tied to the bench, he then waited 2 hours in his car watching out for her owner, when nobody came he scooped her up and took her to the RSPCA, they then contacted ARC as they wanted to place her in a foster home if possible rather than taking her to an animal hospital where she wouldn't be able to socialise with other dogs, thankfully ARC had a place and her foster mum had grandchildren the same age as my two so they knew she would be fine with them. Also when I post the pics of her up you'll understand why we all fell in love with her and continue to do so every day

Aww well done on the rescue and what a sorry start for Indie    thankfully you've given her a loving home where I'm sure she will pay you back big time with love, affection and laughs.

Don't understand why they abandon them in places like that, take it to a rescue centre. Really gets to me that, pure selfish. But congrats for rescuing her   and welcome from Iza and me.

Thanks colin she really is a credit to our family. I don't understand it either. We think it was a young bloke as on her first night at her foster home her foster mums son came in who's 23 and 6ft and indie started crying backed herself in the corner and wet herself, she was also scared of the broom and mop when we first bought her home. God knows what she experienced in such a short amount of time

Lovely pics of your dog.

If you load up your photobucket account and selct the pic you want by clicking on it, to the right hand side of the pic click in the box next to 'IMG' it should say 'copied'. If you then right click and paste in the reply box, you photo should appear in the thread instead of a separate window. Hope this helps
