Lifting the blues

Two weeks ago we had our 13 year old staffiie put to sleep it was the hardest thing we as a family have faced and I have to admit it broke our hearts,she was with us as our children grew up through some difficult times but was always on hand to provide light relief love and affection for all.I thought I couldn't face getting another dog but the house seemed so empty then my wife persuaded me to go to a breeder who just happened to have one pup left ,well you can guess what happened next .Our new little addition is now sitting on my lap asleep while I write this ,she is in no way a replacement for my old pal I have to many memories for that but she is starting her own story bringing up a pup is an experience I had forgot all about its great fun and I would recommend to anyone who has lost a pal like us don't try to replace just look at it as a new chapter.

I actually was in a similar situation to you, I lost my beloved girl Pat and I was so sad but the house also felt empty and I missed going out for daily walks with her. I ended up getting Pru 4 weeks later. Its tough at first because you miss the loyal friend you had and now you find yourself with this disobedient, bitey little thing. I struggled for a while. Things will get better though, through training and patience. Good luck with your new friend (post pics if you can!)
