What an horrid thing to happen. I'm pleased I stayed with mine when we had her put to sleep.

That is unbelievable!! 
That poor, poor dog and how must those owners feel? Trusting the vet, thinking they are doing the best thing for him... 
Hated taking my old girl to be pts but at least we stayed with her til the end.
