only one testicle dropt

He's almost 4 months do you think the other will drop?

He has plenty of time yet so don't panic, however if it doesn't come down eventually he will need to be neutered (the only time i recommend neutering routinely!) because the testicle can turn cancerous in the stomach if left.

Yeah just hoping it does. didn't want to neuter him. But yes I read online that it can become cancerous.I paid top dollar for the dog could this be genetic or just random?

Yes there is still time my old Dacshund only had one the other was in the abdomen and had to be neutered. Lets hope it comes down

Yer i don't neuter either hun, so i know how you feel. As far as i know it's just a random things that can happen with some dogs, have you spoke to the vet about it? sometimes it can come half way down so they may be able to suggest something

Yes the vet said it could still drop give it some time. I talked to the breeder I got him from real awesome guy he said if it doesn't drop hell send me a pup from his next litter

This may sound a very odd question, how do you know when they've dropped. Banes got balls but there tiny, just thought it would happen when it was time.

It's obvious even tiny balls you can feel them and 2 distinct ones

Yes it is hard to tell when there real young I thought they were both there the vet is the one who told me.now when I look I can see it is just one side, but it still has a chance to drop was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this

checking their balls should be something you do regularly anyway to check for lumps and bumps haha! so don't worry

Yeah I know they keep getting me to try and do it at dog training but banes looks at me as if to say "what no first date" lol

is it possible to remove the undescended testicle and leave the 'normal' in the scrotum? i would have thought that this would be possible. personally, i dont believe in any unnecessary surgery, and a dog should be able to develop normally with only a single testicle.

it's not something i've ever heard of as it's a rather invasive surgery to remove the testicle in the stomach.

I don't neuter at all so it's not something i'd recommend apart from cases like this
