Hi, new soon to be rescue staffy owner...

Hi all,

I've joined because we are off travelling for 5 hours on Sunday to potentially meet our perfect dog, a very handsome staffy boy.

It has been a long search but we think he definitely could be the one! We needed a dog good with cats, other dogs, children, livestock, travelling long distances, okay to be left for up to 4 hours, and ticks all these boxes. And he is perfect off lead so that is the cherry on top.

We passed our home check with flying colours which is good! So excited, time is dragging now.

I'm here to learn that extra bit more. This will be our first dog as a married couple, but we are well experienced in dogs. I've never had a Staffy however previous breeds I've owned (and they have lived their final days with us): Greyhounds, RottixAlsation, JRTs, CKCS.

Well it fell through he wasn't quite as expected from what they had told us. We expected boisterious to be jumping up/playful but it was jumping up but also grabbing on us and tugging our scarfs/coats...at 5ft2 (he was near my face grabbing) and with potential child vistors...we decided he was not the dog for us Very sad and unexpected.

I understand kennels change dogs but really wish I had known about that particualr habit before travelling over 5hrs and spending £200 on fuel and B&B! Ah well...still looking for a rescue

Oh Charlotte, that is a real shame. I am aware of some rescue Staffy pups at our nearby kennels here in Bedfordshire. Also I thoroughly recommend The Dogs Trust which is where we got Milly from. xx
