Hi Peeps,

I been reading alot of threads on this forum about raw diets, but i think ive taken to much in at once and im in need of advice to make sure i understand...

from what i have been reading most of you just get raw animal parts from websites/butchers and just feed them it as it is? because i have read abit about satin balls and read about alot of the different types recipes where they add more ingredients then just raw meat. also how much would i need to feed my puppy, i see someone say about 10% of body weight for puppys is that just for raw diet because i sure as hell am not feeding him 10% of his weight in dry food atm lol.

Ideally if possible and good for my puppy would like feed him 1 raw meal and 2 dry and when older 1 raw and 1 dry meal a day so he gets a good balance if that is ok or would he be better on all raw rather then changing?

Does anyone make there own dog food similar to likes of satin balls and have recipes to share ??

any advice or answers would be great thanks for taking your time to read this

Hi Smile

Most information will be here

https://staffy-bull-terrier.niceboard.com/t14787-raw-diet

The whole 1raw 2dry i have never heard of anyone doing that, not to say there isnt, just it seems like due to the break in time needed between meals and espcially raw then i would be more in favour of 1raw 1dry, generally in favour going full raw tho

An adult dog is fed 2-3% body weight on raw and the guidlines do say start at 10% for a pup. That is a lot though, you may find you don't need that much. I haven't fed raw from pup but I think Ella has so should be able to advise more about getting started if thats the way you want to go

Am also thinking going raw. At the moment my dog just get a treat for raw meat. But he look miles more energectic of raw than dry food.
But i just feel like he wouldnt be getting all the stuff he needs from raw.

Think i might be scared of the swap. Thats all
But from what i have read it seems better for the dog
Its just making that switch i think

He will get everything he needs from raw and less of the things he does not need from dry.

Start your own thread and ask as much questions as you need, switching to raw is not hard it only seems hard but anyone can do it
