advice needed urgently please

Hi Guys...please could someone advise me. I have a 14 month old male called Marlo and he is a mischevious little boy. My friend needs me to look after her little girl for two days as shes had a family emergency, her little girl is 3 but the Trouble is when they come to the house marlo is so over powering, he jumps up constantly and usually ends up going into his crate during their visit. There is no way I am going to crate him for 2 days but am at a loss as to what to do when im looking after this little girl. I have no small kids anymore.

I have no small children Tracey so not much use to you. All I can suggest is keep him on a lead at first some dogs though automatically treat children with care especially a Staff, but always must be kept an eye on at all times. Hope it goes ok xxx

I would keep him on a lead at first until he gets used to her, he should calm down   Maybe get him a bone or a new toy to give him once he has settled so you can let him off the lead

I think its just slowly does it at first Tracey, as Claire says also a new toy or treat that just comes out when she is there. am sure he will be fine   

As above, I would keep Milo on a lead for a while until Milo gets used to her presence - he can't keep up a high pitch of excitement for 2 days! If you have a baby gate so that Milo can be one room and the little girl in another, at least some of the time, that might be a help.

I have some stair gates in my house so I can seperate if needed but still got the freedom of other parts of the house

I have stair gates but he really cannot be trusted to be in a room alone as no matter how much i think ive got it "marlo proof" he never fails to find mischief or create mayhem lol
