nasty is it true

hi please bare with me, i need to know the signs of my kim being nasty, i know it sounds silly but a friend of mine well so called friend has scared me a little , because i saved my kim from a druggie and i have no idea what she is crossed with,my friend says she could just turn on me are anyone, please is this true, i hope not, i do love kim to bits but with being a new dog owner i am very concerned, is there any truth in what my friend has said,thank in advance

I wouldn't take much notice of what your friend had said, so long is your dog is well socialised with other dogs and people her temperament should be fine. Make sure she gets into a good routine with plenty of exercise a good quality food and lots of play time you should have a well balanced happy family dog.

aww thanks kathy, i do take her for 3 walks a day bout 15 20 mins each walk, i play with her, she is asleep on chair with me now lol, she has not met many dogs only had her last injection bout 2 weeks ago, i am of work at min with broken finger that has complications, so i havent had chance for her to meet other dogs, i am at the vets next week so i will ask about puppy classes, it has knocked me a little my friend saying that, cos i have no idea what kim is crossed with, does it make a differance? x

It's strange "what everyone knows" about Staffies! If Kim was only 12 weeks old when you rescued her, it is highly unlikely that she will have been taught agressive ways. The main thing is to bring her up with love and kindness - please do look around the various tutorials on this site for guidance on how to bring up a puppy. Echo advice above, please don't take notice of what people say, as said as long as Kim is socialised with as many people and other dogs, and sufficient exercise you will have a very contented and happy dog. The hard work does pay off and you will be a very proud Staffy owner. Xx

There is no more chance of Kim turning on anyone than any other dog! Ignore her and don't worry x

Hey i had a women ask me yday if eddie is safe "as this breed is aggressive" i said yes his fine with all other dogs in end it was hers that went for eddie and it was a lab twice the size if him am no expert myself just keep reading and reading and learning as i go i just let him and a sniff a d play with the other dogs as most of the other owners dont mind and come to eddie to stroke him

Just tell your "friend" they are a lunatic who knows sod all about dogs and go find some new friends ( with staffies ) you will find out with all the idiot outspoken know it alls about , every staffy owner needs a friend now and again , of course besides the best one that you have with you now

aww thanks everyone, dave so true my best friend ever is asleep right at the side of me i am learning all the time, i will do my best to keep my best friend safe , loved, fed,walked,played with, and if people dont like her tough i love her,there loss, has for other dogs to be honest i am bit scared after being attacked the day after i got kim, but i will get there in the end, my sons girlfriend who has a staffy called zac who helped me get over my fear of dogs is coming in the next few days to play with kim, i well nervous lol

Try not to worry Tracey you are doing great, sure all will go well with the play date.
Maybe an idea to introduce them to each other on leads on neutral ground first.  

inez i was thinking of my garden, so would it be better on the grass in frount of my house ? yes i was thinkingof them both being on leads, funny the other day on our walk , a guy with his daughter an there little puppy were out walking, i said not had dog before the guy said me neither, the 2 puppies were sniffing each other, i said hope they are ok the guy said my mate told me has long has tails are wagging its ok , we both laughed nervousely, the 2 pups were fine i think lol , i wll learn   

honestly Tracey take no notice of this so called friend,Kim is just a baby,how you bring her up will be how she will be,just because you dont know what she is crossed with does'nt been she will turn nasty,sash is crossed with some thing and she is a big softy  

aww stella thankyou so much, i feel better now, i was so scared,but feel bit gulty now looking at kim she is such a sweetie love her to bits,

Kim is absolutely gorgeous   Echo everything Stella said - it's just how you bring them up not any genes they might have. No dog is born bad  

Totally agree with ^^^ advice, Kim will be fine! take no notice of your "expert" friend you get out what you put in.

Hope the play date goes well

hi play date went really well zack was really good with kim jumping all over him, kim just followed zack where ever he went, i gave zack a treat he dropped some of it an kim had it , zack just walked away bless him, well this morning is bad raining dark ect, kim hasnt done anything in house for nearly 2 weeks, gutted this morning she just went to poo on my kitchen floor, didnt get to he quick enough, so i put her outside in rain for few minswhile i cleaned poo up, she didnt like it at all
