Poor Dempsey's hurt himself

Again.

Front right leg this time. He came back from his late night walk about half an hour ago. I'd say he was limping, but he wasn't putting any weight on it at all - he just didn't want to move, the poor thing. He was taking one step every five seconds and looking really sorry for himself, and then tried to get downstairs to lie down where it's cooler and got stuck. He'd gone down the first couple of steps, but obviously it hurt him too much, so he couldn't move and just whined and yelped. Tried to gently lift him back up to the landing, which he still had his back paws on, but that hurt him as well.

Mum went down to the bottom of the stairs and called him. He clearly wanted to go down, as he was wagging his tail and shuffling about, but he panicked every time his paws got close to the edge of the step. Eventually, he managed to get down to the bottom landing and ease himself into a laying position, but it took a while!

He probably wrenched his leg when he was playing with the flirt pole. Poor little guy. He can have a day's rest tomorrow - light walks only! I'm sure that'll please him, as we're due for rain.

Poor little boy isn't doing very well this morning. I got up at seven and he was just laying there. Mum had covered him with a blanket during the night, so he was warm, but he just looked so sad...

He didn't even raise his head straight away when I went over to him. He tried to sit up eventually, but it must have hurt his leg, as he sort of twitched it and breathed in really sharply.

Mum managed to get him downstairs this morning, but it took a lot of panicking and a little yelp. She had to lift him part of the way. He was shaking so hard, it looked like he was fitting.

He's just come back from a very short walk, so hopefully he'll be okay to rest for a while.

He's looking very sorry for himself, but he's had an aspirin and it seems to have eased it a bit.

Poor lad, that was my first thought tbh, they do get very focussed with a FP, it seems to take them over, so small injuries and sprains are pretty common  ... I've been there with Max, and always warm him up first with some running cus he goes absolutly mental with the FP, like jumping to chest hieght and twisting in mid air etc ...

Yeah. Doesn't help that we've not got a lot of space. In future, I'll need to make sure he warms up properly.

He was a bit cold earlier, so I've put his blanket over him and he's fast asleep on my bed. He hardly ever is allowed in my bedroom, but it's warmer in here. Had to lift the big lump onto the bed though. My blanket's going to be covered in dog hairs!

Ah well he needs tlc today

 At least he's finally settled down. You should have seen his face when I opened the door to let him in - priceless! I usually shoo him out when he manages to get the door open!

 Yes he does! Poorly leg or not, he still gobbled it down quickly enough!

He's wriggled his way up the bed and now has his head on my shoulder under the blanket.  Big softie!

Hmmmm.

He was lively enough when I got home. BUT. He refused to go down the stairs for his afternoon walk, so my oh picked him up & carried him down. Sounds pretty serious, eh?

However, he was fine on the walk & got back up the stairs easily enough. He had no problem running up & down the stairs when my oh was doing some work down there & he came running quickly enough when it was dinner time! 

Glad to hear he is back to himself sort of... probably forgot he was supposed to be hurt when he smelled food.

Well, short walk again this morning just to make sure. But today, he really wanted to go further & has been sulking because I wouldn't! 

He's attacked the cushions several times this morning - frustration beaking through!  Other than that, he seems to have recovered pretty well.

 He's fine! He just had an 'accident' next to me on the sofa.

He had a sexy dream!  

He can keep them to himself next time!

Good thing Dempsey can't read ... how embarrassment

Took a while to disappear, which he wasn't happy with!  

Managed to get in some light play exercise earlier with one of his new toys. Hopefully going to upload the video later!

Poor Dempsey hope he gets better soon! can't wait for the video though
