Hey all. Looking for some recommendations on complete dry food

I currently have Poppy on James Wellbeloved Junior Lamb and rice but recently she has started having issues with her skin that I have been told may be related to her food??? She occasionally scratches to the point she slightly bleeds...especially behind her ears and in her 'armpits'. She has been flea treated recently so they have been ruled out.
I can't give her any food containing fish tho as it goes right through her Sad
Thanks in advance

Have you considered a grain free food as this may be causing the irritation. Lillys kitchen do a grain free food, it's not cheap though and works out at £6.50 per kilo:

Have you talked this over with the vet ?

Interesting actually because i had my boy on james wellbeloved and he use to scratch alot but i never linked it to food esp when i rate jwb quite highly, always put it down to grass allergy or something, now i have him on raw food i hardly ever seen im scratch.infact i dont really think he does scratch now

Theres is alot of good foods people could recommend here and maybe some here might be able to tell you best foods that wont have the issues you had with jwb.

There are quite a few grain free foods available, darcy is on Simpsons after having gotten fed up in arden grange. They are both grain free too. Smile

We give Earthborn (grain free) which also helps on gaining weight for George, its the best for him so far but sometimes his poop is very soft so we give raw meaty bone that great help on his digestive system and firm poop.

Hi, harry was exactly the same on James Wellbeloved we changed to cereal free Applaws and yipee no more scratching although he seems to be getting to an age now where he is becoming fussy (8 months) but at first he wolfed it down.

I feed mine Millies Wolfheart and have fed Applaws also. One of mine had problems with skin and ear infections on their old food which was not grain free and the other had anal gland problems. Since switching to Millies, all problems have cleared up and their coats and general wellbeing is so different.....plus there is a lot less poo to clear up!

Millies Wolfheart is a good food, no doubt about it, but it's very expensive!

It's not the cheapest Caryll but when you think about the amount you feed compared to the cheaper brands..it's not that bad and for the quality, it definitely isn't expensive compared to some. I agree it's about what you can afford. We put a bit away each week so when we come to buy the food, we have it saved already rather than taking out a large lump!
