Foot in Mouth with Strangers ???

Ever made some random friendly , joking comment and wished you hadn't ??

This morning walking through the Ind Est and saw a police car zoom up and down a couple of times obviously in search of someone , there was an old guy with what I assumed his Grandson walking down and quite well dressed , walked past him smiling and said hope they are not looking for the little boy as he looks like a tearaway   .

The Grandad replied , hope not as we already have his Dad in the cells this morning so don't want another one   Sort of just smiled and carried on

Any little stories for us anyone  

  Put your foot in that one Dave, Oh I have way too many, and it's guaranteed just my luck got to be with a good looking guy, and I end up making a food of myself haha

I once had a conversation with my Sil dad about how well he was looking and he said she's gained a bit of weight and I said well most people do when they pack in smoking after 20 years............ Then I remembered he never new she smoked

I know & then He turned to her mother and said did you know and I was like no no no she didn't know and she did

Well this happened the other day, was taking peoples names at a funeral and a young lady gave me her name and said and partner. I said "Is he here?" to which she replied "Yes SHE is!!" I wanted the ground to open up and swallow me, bad to assume I guess!

And why not , you are a beautiful lady and if I was female and that way inclined ( I'm pretty sure I would be if I was a female , if I could actually tear myself away from me   ) then I would definitely have you on my wink list

A long time ago, I crossed paths with a young mum coming out of shop with her toddler daughter. The little girl had a big red swollen lump in the middle of her forehead and I said to her "oh, poor you! Did you bump your head?" And her mum said "No, it's a strawberry mark, she was born with it".

Aaaargh!

And believe it or not I've done even worse than this, only it's too shameful to repeat, although I still wake sweating at nights about it, 40-odd years on.

never mind Lynda , I did meet an old friend and his girlfriend in the pub once and ask her when she was due .......... guess what , she wasn't   But we did meet up a year later and I couldn't be more embarassed but she was actually thanking me as she went off to the Gym and lost 3 stone , I felt terrible

OMG Dave, I've done the "when is the baby due" thing so many times, but not to strangers exactly so it doesn't count on this thread. But I've finally, finally, learnt to bite my tongue on this one, even if the girl is otherwise stick-thin and has a colossal beach-ball stuck on her front.

His girlfriend was a stranger to me  

It counts then!
