how to tell a staffys age?

I got a male staffy (jake) a few month ago and his last ower said he was nearly 3 then they said he was only 1 and a half :/. I was just wondering if there is any tips to know his age? I dont really want to ask my vets because its wasting their time i think lol. I never got his vet book with him as they had lost it.

You could post pics but we would only be guessing, you could ask the vet next time your there, he'll check from his teeth an average age, but your never going to know for sure

i'm sure the vet would'nt mind looking at him,they could give you a good estimate  

one of the best ways is the check his teeth and the condition of them, obviously it's never going to be spot on but might give you an idea

Im with ella on this with teath being prob most acurate. I was looking into it a while back and if you google it there are some "rough" guides which usually best guess give or take a year or two.
As for vets, ask if you can see a nurse for a general checkup. They are usually free and sneak the question in. They see so many dogs if diff ages they will be able to give you a relatively good idea

if you know the previous owner, can you not ask for the previous vets details?
