So Glad to be Here!

Willow is my first Staffy and was an unplanned adoption! I saw her at a pet store in a crowd of her brothers and sisters that a wonderful woman had rescued from the Texas/Louisiana border. The people there rarely spay or neuter their dogs, so the puppy population is huge. The woman even has local vets there offering vouchers for free sterilization. But the puppies keep coming and coming. She had discovered that the locals just dump the unwanted puppies in the swamps for the alligators! So she added rescuing puppies in the spring along with the already activity of rescuing unwanted adult dogs. I have so enjoyed the great nature and enthusiasm of Willow. Her father is a Bull Mastiff, which may be why she is tall-similar to the stature of a female Great Dane. Even though I have been met with odd comments and looks, Willow has proven to people that the stigma is false. She does seem to have a high prey instinct, but I give her huge kudos for keeping her self in check in a home with 9 cats. Yes, 9. She is gentle most of the time but since she is large, she accidentally steps on a tail or a body once in a while!
