Trip to the vets Empty Trip to the vets

After returning from holiday and picking Alfie up from the kennels we have found blood in his poo so to be safe we took him to see the vet. The vet has assured us that all is well with his health and its probably down to stress so nothing to worry about and a short diet of chicken and rice should see him ok. While we were there we had a chat about the patches of lost hair on Alfie. Turns out it is a mite called DEMODEX which has been passed on from the mother to the pups and he also said it is more common in staffies . A strong course of advocate for the next 3 weeks should start to show an improvement in the patches. Have any of you had this with your dogs?

Hey there, unfortunately Daisy has had demodex, it's much more common in younger dogs because their immune system hasn't developed fully yet, the treatment should clear it up and fingers crossed he'll never have a problem with it again. Make sure you finish the treatment prescribed by the vet and then take him back for another skin scrape to make sure all the mites are gone.
