Hello from Prague - Django

Hello all,

I would like to introduce myself here on a forum. My name is Robert and I come from Prague. Me and my wife have recentely bought our first dog. We both already had couple of dogs with parents so we are not total novices but we never had a staffy before. Our dog is just 3 weeks now so we have to wait for another 4 weeks to take him to our place and we just can't wait!!!

Meet our Django! He's a boy and comes from Tábor, Czech Republic.

7 weeks is still a little young for the puppy to be away from it's mother and litter mates, could the breeders keep him for another week ?

Hello Kathy,

I'm sure it would be possible. However here in the Czech Republic it's usual that you take a puppy when he is 6 weeks and the breeders told me that it would be better to wait for the seventh week as that's the week when the puppies learn the bite habbits. What would be the reason for Django to stay there for the eigth week? Is something particular going on?

Also, I think that most of the puppies will be gone in the seventh week so he may be there alone.

Welcome

Django is adorable, bet you can't wait. The breeder's right, keeping him longer means he learns more bite inhibition from his siblings, so the longer he's kept with the breeder, the more he'll learn, which is why we say 8 weeks is a good time for them to leave the breeder. Hope you'll keep us updated with pictures Smile
