what would happen...

Bit of a morbid thread but was really interesting on another forum.

What would happen to your dog(s) if you were unfortunately to pass before them? May seem sad but it never hurts to plan for possible eventualities

I'll copy what i put on the other thread

"If by whatever reason i pass before my dogs, which i hope not given my age, my OH would take up ALL responsibility of them as he is the ONLY person i would ever trust to look after them, but IF for whatever reason he could not cope he knows that he must not give the dogs up to a rescue or rehome them, i want them PTS if they were to leave him. No questions about it and he has agreed."

Please no bashing other peoples choices.

Obviously my wife would have to take care of them without me.

If something were to happen to both of us my parents would take them on I am sure.

My mum would have him - shes the only person who really understands how much I love him so I would trust him with her and no one else

I'd be the same as the OP. My oh or my kids would have him, but otherwise he'd be gently pts.

His temperament wouldn't be good enough for a rescue centre anyway.

My hubby would have them, or if he's gone too then we have 4kids that can and will look after them x

My hubby,we don't have any kids and family,well I don't think they fully understand Debo. And as everyone before me said, I woudn't trust anyone with Debo. Sad but would take him with me.

Hubby and me dont have any kids or any family that could take on Rocky, he would therefore go back to Woodgreen Rescue Centre who would make sure he was re homed correctly. I wouldn't mind that too much as someone else's life could be enriched by having him in their home.

My mum would take her Xx failing that any person who knows her

My Mum/Dad would take him. Jeez they'd struggle though...

My mum definitely, she already has 3 so what's one more!!

Obviously Jo would have them both , in the event of an unthinkable then they would go with Jenny to family and if the unthinkable happened then my brother would take our 2 as part of the conditions of getting my money,

I'd hope my family would keep him. My dad's always joking about if I die before Loki, he'll be joining me but nah, they'd look after him, if only because they owe him for helping me climb out of my depression

It is a fact though Ella that I am making assumptions when I haven't got thing in place so yes thanks for making me think too

I know that if i died my dad would give lexi away to anyone who would take her at the drop of a hat.

But if i were to die and my wishes met i would give her to Willows owner (her walking buddy) shes a kind person and would never mistreat her and would keep her until the end. All my animals would go to her or her family if i were to die and i make a point of telling that to my parents very regularly!

its one thing alot of people forget about, im going to be going a will soon, its not like i have much to give but i didnt realize you have to designate your child in the will aswell and i will stipulate that tyke goes were ever ryan does as.....

It is a very much what if, with it being a BIG if but it's always best to have a little think IMO

My OH would keep Suki and if we were both to go one of her friends handlers would take her.
