6 month year old puppy vomiting blood :(

Hi folks,

I woke up yesterday to find my little boy Archie reaching and seemed to be trying to be sick. He eventually coughed up small amounts of yellowish bile.

He was off his food in the morning but soon started eating again! Normal behaviour for rest of day ( charging around and causing mayhem )

But this morning I heard Archie reaching/ coughing so went downstairs and found he coughed up blood and small amounts of bile

I will be calling the vets when they open at 9am but wondered if anybody had had similar problems??

Any advice most appreciated.

Is there something he could be eating in his crate/bed?

Never had blood in vomit before. I agree with your decision to go to the vet. Please let us know the diagnosis

Haven't had a similar experience but he's maybe eaten something strange?

His crate is danger free but he did grab hold of a bic biro yesterday afternoon and was chomping on it before I got to him..... Maybe he swallowed some of the clear plastic bits!!??

We have only just recently started to feed him twice a day on his dry kibble food as opposed to his three meals per day. I doubt this has any bearing on things though.

Am not going to feed him this morning yet and wait to see what the vet says when I call up at 9am.

I will keep you posted.

Definitely a trip to the vets. Might just be a scratch in his throat, but best to make sure.

Hope Archie is ok. He could've aggravated his throat chewing the pen, fingers crossed that this is all he has done.

Just returned from the vets and his had a sickness injection and been given some tablets to help with what they think something has scratched in his throat. His still his normal mischievous self and have given him some chicken/rice/carrots to cheer him up

Just need to make sure he does not get chewing/ eating things he should not be!! Lol as if!!!
