Ok so after the great week last week after introducing Knox to the crate and NOT having to lock him in and him being a very good boy - this week he has the devil in him!

Yesterday he went on our bed, even though we had put stuff on it, he rucked up the one side and dribbled all over the place (very drooly dog at times). He had also had a go at the front door and got dirty prints all over it (luckily didn't scratch it).

Today I've gone home at lunch and he was sitting looking very sorry for himself. I knew straight away something was up. Looked at the front door - yep paw marks where he'd been going at it along with a puddle of pee (didn't tell him off cos sometimes they can't help themselves and he knew he'd been a bad woof). Upstairs he'd rucked his bed up and his covers were all over the place, which I don't mind but he hadn't been on our bed.

He's going on long walks in the morning and I'm home every lunch for a walk and each nite straight after we get in from work. Just wish I could work out why he's acting this way. He's never needed to pee in the daytime before, unless on walks etc. Just really getting me down Sad sorry to keep going on guys Sad

Sometimes a dog will rebel against a change in routine after seeming like everything was ok.

I was always advised never to scold a dog that has went to the toilet inside. Unless you can catch them in the act of doing it and take them straight outside to the right place it means nothing to the dog.

Unfortunately sometimes it's a matter of grinning and baring with him, he is still very new to crate training.

Rocky is always on our bed and will sort out the bed covers until he is just comfy. We put an old duvet cover on the bed during the day (just the cover without the duvet inside it) as he will invariably get under the cover anyway. Do you have any old covers you could put on your bed to help to keep it clean.

Quite right Matt, you cannot tell him off later for doing something he did wrong, he will wonder why he is being told off.

Oh I haven't told him off but he knows he's done bad. I could tell as soon as I walked in and saw him ducking down at me. He's always been like it. If he's been a really good boy he greets me wagging and jumping, when he's been a little beggar he ducks his head at me.

To be honest I don't think he pee'd on purpose. I think it's that he gets himself so worked up that he can't control it.

I'll persevere still but if it does carry on he'll have to go in the leanto as he can do what he wants in there. Will make it a massive dog kennel for him Smile he'll probably love it in there!

Has he not been left alone much before? Or not outside the crate? Maybe he's just not used to it and feels a bit unsure of all the change (or enjoying all the freedom)?
