With my new dehydrator

the OH bought it me as a late crimbo pressie so had a play with it yesterday did a load of chicken livers for treats as the boys


and the end result which actually taste bloody lovely

the boys love them!

Dehydrators are great. Homemade treats are so much healthier and glad to hear the boys enjoy them

They are so good use them for me and for buster, you get your money back without a doubt. Buster loves his liver treats and I do any fresh veg or fruit that we have that is near it's sell by date xx

The boys won't eat fruit or veg but am going to do fish, chicken/pork skins, kidney, heart and the like

we use one to dry home grown hops for beer making they are grand

That looks really good - the middle part of my freezer is totally utilised with 8KG frozen liver/kidney (which only requires a small part for her weekly diet ) LOL !!!

- how long does it last / fresh for after dehydrating ??

weeks they will stay fresh for if you keep them in a tub

How long does it take to dry the pig skin out?

I left it for about 13 hours on low i think

Wouldn't mind getting one, but I don't know where I'd put it!

yer it's really low energy but it's MASSIVE so takes up quite a bit of space

do you just use it for treats/chews or do you use it for preservation?

you can dry pretty much what you want, i'm going treats for the boys and meat for me but you can do fruit, veg whatever

guess whos been shopping not everything was for the dehydrator though!

Nope most things hardly smell at all

My pig skin was ready this morning the dogs love it!!

might look into buying one to start making treats are they expensive and how long does it take to dry treats out???

Me and stu got it from amazon for £35 without postage.

Depends what your making it's really low energy so doesn't use much leccy but liver took about 10 hours whereas pig skin, sprats and that I left for a day

Blue loves his dried hearts and liver. What have you found to be your dogs favorites? Might also look into buying one but like Caryll, no idea where I am going to put it. Do the pieces shrink allot in size after dehydration?

Bailey and Sierra particularly like liver and kidney and there tripe sticks lol! There on sale just now on amazon mate! Depends what it is, kidney/liver goes pretty flat though!

I made tripe sticks in it and didn't smell a thing it smelt worse cutting it up! The only thing that smelt a bit was the sprats!

Will do me. im this close to buying it. As soon as I work out what I can break so we have the room for it I am clicking the confirm button. Save loads on treats as I have a big chest freezer full of meat, mrs on a health kick at mo so I can sell it to her for doing fruit etc. Just space stu just space. What can I break mate?
